Once upon a time, there were sisters named Ume and Kame. Sisters were living in an old house for a long time only by themselves. What is the best flooring for a living room and maybe also the two bedrooms . Was thinking of Sisal ? Or wood?

October 14th, 2009

I like the ”looks ” of the natural fibers, and was told that Sisal or Seagrass were more resistant than Wood ?
What about Bamboo flooring ? I went to check out laminate, seems like the cheapest by far and the most solid ! But does is look ”cheap ” ? I’m thinking more between Bamboo flooring and laminate now ! Maybe keep the seagras/sisal for bedroom ?

I think Ceramic tile is one of the most durable flooring choices available.Ceramic tile is very low maintenance. Just sweep as needed, and mop occasionally with a cleaner recommended by the manufacturer.

Tile flooring enhance any space by providing infinite stylistic opportunities and they are a durable, long lasting material, ensuring that you enjoy your design for a long time. So, whether you go for the subtle classic look, more modern colorful designs or the bold mosaic tiles, they are always a good choice.

I just bought a Seagrass rug and it smells. How do I get rid of the overpowering straw smell?

That straw smell will eventually fade, but you can hasten the process by using Febreze or a similar product. If the weather is nice where you are, you can also air it out on your porch or balcony.
