I just got a chocolate lab puppy and I am having a hard time potty training it. If anyone has any tips, please give them to me. Thanks!

Wow do you have some work ahead of you. Part of it is regulating how much food and water you put down for him to eat. Puppies that young can’t hold their bladder for very long so you need to figure out a way to take him out every hour. Say "ready to go potty outside?". Grab the leash. Eventually he will either come to you or you just have to say "outside". Every time you take him out, take him to the same spot so he will know what to do. After each time he does it outside in the right spot, have a party. PRAISE YOUR PUPPY. Give him a treat. Dogs love to please and as soon as they know that it gives you pleasure to go at the right time and place, they have a better chance of doing it.
Whenever he is inside, do not leave him unattended. Keep him to one room. Do not let him out of your sight. Eventually it will get the idea. Google dog training and you can also learn about crate training, which is also a great idea if you want the dog inside a lot. It is going to take a lot of time and patience but he will figure it out. You just have to make sure you are paying attention. Most of the time, you have no one else but yourself to blame if he goes in the house. GOOD LUCK!
I have been reading alot about training, and i have a dvd on the way but nothing says an age. I will pick the dog up in a few days at 8wks old.
I would say asap. Because my bf adopted a German Shorthair Pointer from the shelter at 8 mos. and he already had an extreme fear of gunfire.
