Beer Making Kits

I was going to buy bottles, but wasn’t sure how many to buy. It’s one of the kits like Mr Beer has.

Generally, a beer making kit makes 5 gallons of beer; however, the Mr. Beer does around 2 gallons.
Instead of buying bottles you should keep your old ones (or ask friends too). The only thing is that they need to be pop offs not twist offs. Nevertheless, it you do not have those types sometimes the bottle redemption place will sell you what you need cheaper than a place that sells new bottles.

If you do use "used" bottle you must sanitize them. We usually soak them in bleach and water for a bit then rinse VERY well. After that bottle!

let it sit for longer in a semi dark cool place like in the bath tub or something like that. Let it sit for 7 days before opening it. If that don’t help go back and try again. Oh yea make sure the bottles are sealed all the way and there is no leaks in it.
